I play taonga puoro in both musical and hauora settings and was fortunate to be mentored by the late Richard Nunns, and Hinewirangi Kohu Morgan, and continue to be supported by Brian Flintoff. These were and are key people in the Haumanu movement who brought back the voices of these taonga from the brink of extinction. I am now working with composers, artists, practitioners, kairongoā, and others to bring these precious sounds to new generations, and to restore them to our own cultural settings.
